ANZPT7 Melbourne Day 2: Back to the actionNO Deposit bonus $43

Records set as players return at the hunt for the largest prize in ANZPT history.

A cool quarter of 1,000,000 for the person who reaches the highest of the rostrum this week. First place prize is about at $261,200 and it's serious business here because the action gets back underway.

Yesterday we saw records broken as a complete of 520 players pulled up seats to set the prize pool at $1,066,000 for the last-ever ANZPT event. With an all-time high for field size and money up for grabs we're certainly ending the ANZPT's seven-year legacy in fine form.

crown melbourne room shot.jpg

It's been a frantic start as players found their newly allocated seats for the 12:30pm start. The plan is to minimize to the money tonight, with no less than seven levels of poker guaranteed. That implies the 241 Day 2 qualifiers might be whittled all the way down to 63, with those lucky enough to make it locking up a minimum of a $3,200 payday.

Leading the way in which as play began was South Korea's Hyeong Wook Choi who started with an outstanding 131,100 in chips. Choi emerged because the chip boss into Day 1b yesterday and continued scooping pots to cement that lead before play concluded.

Choi already has four live cashes on Australia soil but his biggest score up to now came last year with an APT Manila Main Event appearance. Ultimately finishing fourth Choi pocketed $35,300 and appears well on his technique to potentially besting that here at ANZPT Melbourne.

Following the chip leader is fellow South Korean and Day 1A end-of-day chip leader Min Jae Park. Currently second in chips Park began with 118,500. Just behind him is Danny Boxell with a stack of 107,100. Son of Australian Poker Hall of Famer Leo Boxell, he'll be trying to follow in his father's footsteps and discover a deep run.

Others still in contention include Team PokerStars Pro Chen-an Lin (60,900), James Obst (22,100), Tristan Bain (85,200), Billy 'The Croc' Argyros (33,500), James Rann (40,100), Raiden Kan (17,300), Anthony Legg (21,300), Luke Brabin (94,200), Sam Razavi (11,700) Michael Kanaan (25,800), Stevan Chew (58,700), Jackie Glazier (10,100), Manny Stavropoulos (59,800), Dean Blatt (43,800) and Tony Hachem (30,100).

Big bets on Raptors with season at the line in Game 6NO Deposit bonus $43
Will one of the crucial two vacancies within the NBA Finals be filled on Friday night? Covers talks concerning the big matchup with Jeff Stoneback, manager of the sportsbook on the Mirage, and an oddsmaker for online site BetNow.Cleveland Cavaliers at Toronto Raptors – Open: Cavaliers -6.5; Move: Cavaliers -6, then back to -6.5

There’s only been one close game within the Eastern Conference finals so far, and Wednesday’s Game 5 stayed true to that form. Cleveland thumped Toronto 116-78 as an 11-point favorite to take a 3-2 series lead into Friday’s 8:30 p.m. Eastern tipoff at Toronto.

The Cavs will attempt to punch their ticket back to the NBA Finals, while the Raptors will see in the event that they can keep the home-court luck rolling to force a Game 7.

“We opened at Cavs -6.5. Then we took a $30,000 bet at the Raptors, which took the road all the way down to 6,” Stoneback said. “It’s 2-1 in tickets written at the Cavaliers. Everyone else is at 6.5. We’ll probably finally end up there.”

Indeed, The Mirage went back as much as 6.5 late this morning Pacific time. Stoneback said the moneyline has seen some back-and-forth shifting as well, again as a result of a large Toronto ticket.

“We’d opened it at Cavs -280, then took a $20,000 bet at the Raptors at +240, which dropped the Cavs right down to -260 at the moneyline,” Stoneback said. “But we got some a refund on Cleveland, and we’re back at -280.”

In fact, the moneyline number ticked a bit further upward to -300.

Meanwhile, over at BetNow, the road opened at 6 but ultimately needed to shift upward, identical to everywhere else.

“We did see some considerable (early) action are available for the Raptors,” BetNow’s oddsmaker said. “We were anticipating for it to transport as we got in the direction of game time. We're seeing numerous action for the Cavaliers, and so one can definitely push the line, perhaps as much as two points.”

The total opened at 196.5, with BetNow moving to 197.5 after seeing bettors plow into the high side.

“The large majority of our bettors are laying their money at the over for this game,” the oddsmaker said. “This series have been fluctuating at the over and under, and we always see that our players love to pick the over.”

PCA 2016: Bahama Mamas all roundNO Deposit bonus $43

Something happened last night. Something extremely fun and entertaining. And while it was by no means forgettable, I AM NOT sure many of us will commit it to memory with crystal clear clarity.

I'm talking, of course, about last night's PokerStars players party here on the PCA. If you've never been to one, you actually owe it to yourself to check out and attend such a shindigs.

Party-PCA 2016-5829.jpg

All it's important to do is play the primary event, so why not attempt to qualify for next year's PCA or an EPT/LAPT?

Ready to join PokerStars? Click here to get an account.

First of all - there is a free bar. The Bahama Mamas were flowing so far as the attention could see.

Secondly, there's free food. And there is no expense spared here on the PCA; from exotic mini burgers and delicious Cajun chicken to exquisite canapés and...we mentioned the free bar, right?

Then there's the entertainment. This year the PCA has transformed the ballroom at Atlantis right into a Cirque du Soleil-esque extravaganza.

Two men painted gold like Oscars performing physical feats that experience to be seen to be believed; a girl manoeuvring 15 hula hoops round her body easily; acrobats dangling from the ceiling; it really was quite remarkable to watch.

Party-PCA 2016-5774.jpg

Party-PCA 2016-5748.jpg

So, who was in attendance? Well, let's start with the PokerStars Team: Daniel Negreanu, Liv Boeree, Bertrand 'Elky' Grospellier, Eugene Katchalov, Jake Cody, Jason Mercier, Andre Akkari, Felipe Ramos, and Fatima Moreira de Melo were all in attendance.

Party-PCA 2016-5815.jpg

So were the high rollers: Mike McDonald, Ole Schemion and Fedor Holz are only a number of the big names we saw enjoying themselves.

Sadly, all great things must come to an end - or do they? When the official PokerStars party was drawing to a close, hundreds simply made the quick walk over to the superb Aura nightclub here at the Atlantis resort.

And the Bahama mamas continued to flow. Our heads are very sore this morning, but boy did we now have a fair time.

Get yourself out to the PCA next year and you will see all of it for yourself. Satellites for next year's PokerStars Carribean Adventure and all the EPT and LAPT stops are running right now.

We mentioned the free bar, right? --JS

Two More Online Casinos Calling It Quits After US IndictmentsNO Deposit bonus $43
English HarbourEnglish Harbour The web gambling industry was forever shaken by recent indictments by the U.S. government. Two more online casinos have decided to near their doors for good and walk away with the funds they have got remodeled the years, instead of face possible indictments.

Millionaire and English Harbour casinos are both removing their services to online gamblers forever. The move for both casinos come after Full Tilt, PokerStars, and other online gaming industry payment processors were indicted by the dep. of Justice.

English Harbour were accepting US players, but after the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act was created, they, like many other casinos, pulled out of the U.S. market. Now apparently the pressure has become too big for the casinos' owners to maintain serving customers from other areas of the world.

As for Millionaire casino, analysts believe they're closing their online casino for a similar reason. With out a current charges against them, Millionaire casino owners could have desired to quit while they were ahead, something that other casino executives didn't do before indictments were handed down.

Since Black Friday, because it has become known within the gaming industry, many sites have began to reevaluate how and where they're doing business. Full Tilt was one of the vital biggest losers within the aftermath of the U.S. crackdown, having lost their license to function within the UK.

Full Tilt has not yet paid American players back the cash that was of their accounts. Professional poker player Phil Ivey filed a lawsuit against Full Tilt, but has reconsidered the lawsuit after word of an impending sale of Full Tilt surfaced. European investors are expected to take control of and infuse money into the ailing company.
