This week's must-have NBA daily fantasy basketball players
All-Star Week sure is fun - unless, of course, you're a daily fantasy NBA fanatic.

With the week-long silent period coming to a merciful end Thursday, FanDuel players from all over are gearing up for an entertaining - and hopefully profitable - second half of the season.

We discussed questions daily fantasy players should have asked themselves coming out of the first half; if you played frequently, you should have created enough of a sample size to accurately assess your strengths and weaknesses. With the season about to resume, it's time to set some goals.

These may or may not include:

- Setting a target profit amount and aiming to reach it by season's end
- Breaking down profit goals by day, week or month
- Working on better form in an area of weakness, or galvanizing an area of strength
- Winning a guaranteed prize pool event (we can all dream, can't we?)

Here are the top must-play options as regular-season action returns:

Thursday - SF LeBron James, Cavaliers (vs. Bulls)

James and the Cavaliers will be looking to come out of the break on fire as they seek to pad their lead atop the Eastern Conference. The Bulls no doubt used the break to get healthier, but they'll still be without their best LeBron stopper in Jimmy Butler. James is an excellent source of fantasy points, most nights, but should see an uptick in upside with this favorable post-break matchup.

Friday - C DeMarcus Cousins, Kings (vs. Nuggets)

On the busiest slate of the season, Cousins is the one star you absolutely need to roster. While he hasn't faced the porous Nuggets this season, his performance against them last season - averages of 27 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and 2.3 steals in 29 minutes over three games - bodes welly Cousins is always a foul or ejection risk, but he'll be a monster if he keeps his composure.

Friday (Bonus Pick) - C Anthony Davis, Pelicans (vs. 76ers)

Not interested in Cousins? Consider another elite center with a sensational matchup. Davis carries similar risk to Cousins, only his is injury-related. But Davis should be near full health entering a showdown with a Philadelphia team that has improved dramatically over the past month, but is still just 3-24 on the road. Davis will carry a big salary, but the upside is worth the cost.

Saturday - PG Stephen Curry, Warriors (at Clippers)

Curry comes out of the break with a great matchup against a Clippers team he has already torched twice this season. The sharpshooter drained seven 3-pointers in a 31-point showing on Nov. 4, and followed that up with a 30-point, 11-rebound evisceration just two weeks later. This one could be more competitive than most Golden State games, raising Curry's upside further.

Sunday - PG Russell Westbrook, Thunder (vs. Cavaliers)

When the spotlight is on, Westbrook is unstoppable. And with the Cavaliers visiting Oklahoma City in the biggest game of the weekend, daily fantasy owners should be all over the electrifying Thunder guard. Westbrook victimized the Cavs for 27 points, 10 assists and three steals in their first encounter in Cleveland - and should have no trouble duplicating or even exceeding those marks.

Sunday (Bonus Pick) - SF Kawhi Leonard, Spurs (at Suns)

With Phoenix in a tail spin, fans shouldn't be surprised to see the Suns pull the plug and deal away their most tradeable assets. Regardless of whether they do, they're in no position to challenge the Spurs, even on their own court. Leonard has averaged 21.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, three assists and two steals in three meetings with Phoenix this season, and should easily return value.
