This past weekend in New Jersey was the most important in recent memory, in no small part as a result of conclusion of the 54-event New Jersey Spring Championship of Online Poker (NJSCOOP) on PokerStars NJ.

The biggest event at the schedule was the NJSCOOP High Main Event with "pwrdbysteam" outlasting 392 entrants to pony-up the $500 buy-in to win an outstanding $38,380.

In general, the NJSCOOP was a hit on numerous levels, however the featured event did not meet its $200,000 guarantee providing addition value to players that finished within the money.

Four other players cashed for five-digit scores within the NJSCOOP High Main Event, including "nocabftos" (2nd - $28,250), "TGfor3" (3rd - $21,000), "loxonbagel" (4th - $16,000), and "TeethOfBags" (5th - $11,200). Two well-known players finished just behind this group with Jason "TiltedHard" Lawhun snagging sixth place for $8,500 and poker coach Brandon "mudcookie" Shane securing $6,500 for seventh place.

Around this time last year, Wang, who currently sits in 81st place within the Global Poker Index Rankings, was also within the news after beating Bryn Kenney in heads-up play to win his first WSOP gold bracelet in Event #2: $5,000 No Limit Hold'em for $466,120.

Also winning big on PokerStars NJ were "Le Poisson13" and "BBQBill7", who won $7,280 and $7,581, respectfully after agreeing to a heads-up deal within the Sunday High Roller [6-Max], $15,000 Gtd.

Jason Deutsch, Daniel Sewnig, and Keith Donovan Win Big

While the NJSCOOP can have dominated the headlines over the last two weeks within the Garden State, this past weekend produced many other big winners.

Daniel "mj23style" Sewnig and Jason "Jonuzi" Deutsch each won $8,400 after agreeing to a heads-up deal within the partypoker NJ/BorgataPoker.com $50,000 Guarantee. AJ "Chips Jammed" Ten Hoeve won about half that quantity or $4,100 for taking fourth place on this tournament.

Normally chopping this tournament can be an enormous reason to celebrate on its own, however both Deutsch and Sewnig weren't done yet. Deutsch, under the screenname "margateman", also won a $13,000 WSOP Main Event package along side "1111 NiceGuy" in a web based qualifier on WSOP NJ. Deutsch may have some momentum going into this event as earlier in May he shipped the Parx Casino Big Stax1100 for $101,305 after agreeing to a heads-up care for Bahbak Oboodi.

Meanwhile, Sewnig, under the screenname "RedsoxNets5", took fourth place within the WSOP NJ/888poker NJ The large Deal for $3,587.

In other weeks, Keith "T1mB3y B33F" Donovan would have made the principle headline for shipping this tournament for $12,777. Donovan, who currently resides within the Number 1. spot within the PocketFives New Jersey Online Poker Tournament Rankings, should now pad his lead against former top ranked NJ player Yong "ykwon17" Kwon.
