"Who is kennl?"

That was a standard question some of the online poker community, with forum posts inquiring about his identity dating back to 2009.

No one knew who was behind the infamous online avatar, but he had gained notoriety for crushing MTTs and giving regulars a troublesome time at the virtual felt.

"Does he hang out PocketFives? The dude is an absolute monster" read one of the vital posts.

Tournament specialist Jesse McKenzie was on the town this week for the principle Event and nice enough to fill us in slightly more on kennl. He said that the web crusher was also within the field here for ANZPT Melbourne, and goes by the name Kenn Langcake. McKenzie also told us that this was Langcake's first time playing a live event.

"He's from South Africa here on holiday and that is his first live tournament. No person knew who he was back within the day, just that he was a beast online." McKenzie said.

Things started adding up when Langcake made a late charge yesterday to finish up on top of the chip leaderboard. He would bust Minh Nguyen within the final hand of the night to bag up 440,500 on the conclusion of play.

By all reports it appears not just is Langcake one to look at on the tables, but in addition a genuinely nice guy. The similar forum threads asking about his identity also attested to his friendliness on the tables. 2015 Aussie Millions final tablist Anthony Legg gave the impression to share similar sentiments.

"He's a family man and a very top bloke. I got the risk to head out with him the opposite night and he was buying tequila shots for everybody" Legg said with a laugh.

With only 31 players remaining here Langcake has already guaranteed himself a payday and can be hunting the $261,200 first place prize. We'll be watching him closely because the day progresses to peer if he could make it through to our final seven. He's well on his way and something is for sure, McKenzie was right when he tweeted,

"Who is kennl? Y'all bout to search out out."
