While a few of the players flooding into the Casino Barcelona are here for Day 1A of the €1,100 Estrellas Main Event, a select few need to play for nearly ten times the stakes.

Today kicks off the €10,300 Single Re-entry High Roller, a brand spanking new No Limit Hold'em event here in Barcelona that sees people with large enough bankrolls in a position to warm up and hopefully pick up a juicy score early on of their Spanish vacation.

We're expecting quite a lot of well-knowns within the field; players akin to Mustapha Kanit and Davidi Kitai were spotted nearby yesterday, relaxing before what could potentially be their first day of labor today. We'll bring you an update of the sphere on the dinner break.

Here's the way it works: players start with a 50,000 stack and blinds begin at 100/200 with a 25 ante. They'll be playing 60-minute levels, with ten scheduled here on Day 1. When players begin to bust, they have got the choice to re-enter one time (an option bound to be exercised by many within the field). That's certain to build a healthy prize pool.

So, as it is a new event and we haven't any defending champ, let's examine last year's leads to other side events. French former November-Niner Sylvain Loosli took down the €50K Super High Roller at EPT12 Barcelona for €1,224,000, while Germany's Martin Finger won the €25K Single-Day High Roller for €865,900. Jack Salter, Richard Dubini, and Benjamin Pollak are only some of the other side-event winners at this stop last season.
