What makes an ideal company?

Thumbnail image for corporate blog thumb.pngThey say that one measure of an individual is the corporate they maintain. A COMPANY version of this would be that one measure of an organization is the folks they maintain. Here at PokerStars people have a zeal for his or her work and an ethos that celebrates success and - equally important - celebrates the way in which we be successful. Our players know us for the unrivalled customer service we deliver. Our employees know us for the support we give each other.

Companies are primarily judged by their external results: the standard in their product, their sales, profitability and choice of customers. Increasingly, also they are being judged by how they achieve results. Among the best reflections of that is the culture that they foster inside the walls and what employees say concerning the company.

These are one of the reasons it is so gratifying that PokerStars have been named as one of the crucial UK's Best Workplaces by The nice Place to Work® Institute. The institute annually surveys employees and performs a cultural audit of a few 5,500 organizations world wide representing 10 million employees.

Always ready for a challenge, PokerStars decided to ask the Institute's UK branch to place us in the course of the rigorous review process, including a management cultural audit and a survey of our 1,200 worldwide employees, 1/2 which can be based in our London and Isle of Man offices. The result of the audit and the united kingdom employee survey are then measured against such workplace values of credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie.

Last night, GPTW announced the consequences and PokerStars was a few of the top companies within the UK.

This achievement is particularly satisfying given the intense challenges our company and the net poker industry have faced previously year. But, then again, being a great spot to Work is likely one of the explanation why PokerStars has maintained our industry leadership even within the face of turbulent times.

Here's a taste of what our staff consider working at PokerStars:
