This Sunday marked the end of the TCOOP 2016 tournament series with NastyMinder taking away $396K after winning the Main Event. An hour later the weekly $425K guarantee Sunday Warm-Up would end despite starting four and a half hours earlier. LameR25 was in no rush to win after starting at a chip deficit heads-up against WICKED617, LameR25 would come back strong at the right time to win $84,420.00.
The final two tables convened after eight hours and 20 minutes of play and it would take 20 minutes for Miguel "inca7bar" Silva to tell FizzimeiBua it was time to leave in 18th place ($1,742.00). At the same time on the opposite table chipleader WICKED617 escorted edudrake1987 from the table in 17th place ($1,742.00).
This isn't WICKED617 first rodeo late in a PokerStars Major. With Super Tuesday and WCOOP final tables WICKED617 may be adding a Sunday Warm-Up title to the list of accolades.
No rush to get to the final table as an hour after these two tables were created ezi2win did not have chips to continue when LameR25 took them away, handing ezi2win $3,350.00 in 12th place. Another ten minutes and a three-way pot between TaBuLA_Ras4, LameR25, and Ringelsdorf could have started the final table but only Ringelsdorf (despite having a dominating hand preflop) would miss the final table in 11th place ($3,350.00).
A few hands later with the blinds up to 65K/130K ante 13K CrazySezya would complete from the small blind as Miguel "inca7bar" Silva shoved from the big blind. CrazySezya made the call with pocket nines [9s][9c] racing against the [As][Tc] of Silva. Two aces on the flop [Ks] [Ad] [Ah] [4h] [7d] sent Silva to the final table below:
Seat 1: OTT CANADA (1818275 in chips)
Seat 2: Miguel "inca7bar" Silva (5918690 in chips)
Seat 3: LameR25 (1723642 in chips)
Seat 4: dand63 (728664 in chips)
Seat 5: Peter "Se7enTr3y" Akery (2291577 in chips)
Seat 6: TAPÎSpayé? (1745097 in chips)
Seat 7: WICKED617 (5608846 in chips)
Seat 8: TaBuLA_Ras4 (4930462 in chips)
Seat 9: Drento18 (2034747 in chips)
Nine hands into the final table as the blinds moved up to 80K/160K ante 16K LameR25, who finished third in the WCOOP 2014 Event #19, would shove two million chips over an all-in from Drento18. No one joined in as LameR25 turned over pocket jacks [Js][Jc] trumping Drento18's sevens [7h][7c]. The jacks would hold [4h] [6s] [Qs] [2d] [Th] as Drento18 took home $4,556.00 in ninth place.
Dand63 did not start the final table with many chips and did not end the final table with any chips. With the blinds still at 80K/160K ante 16K dand63 could not hide anymore and open shoved for 369K as only OTT CANADA made the call from the small blind holding [Jc][Kc]. Dand63's [Ad][9s] was given a fighting chance but the jack next to the nine on the [7d] [Js] [9d] [8d] [8s] board would end the shortstack's run in eighth place ($7,246.72).
Four hands later as the blinds moved up to 100K/200K ante 20K Peter "Se7enTr3y" Akery, last seen collecting a whopping $860K after a three-way chop at the SCOOP 2014 Main Event-High final table, would go away with a little less in this Major. Akery would shove 1.94 million from the button as TAPÎSpayé? joined in for a little bit more from the small blind with [Ac][Qd]. Akery's [7c][Ah] failed to catch any luck on the [9d] [4s] [Td] [8s] [5c] board to take away $12,596.00 in seventh place.
After the tenth hourly break TaBuLA_Ras4 and OTT CANADA got excited about getting premium hands only to see the disappointment when both of them turned up pocket aces and chopped the pot. WICKED617 said dryly "wp guys" taking the chip lead into the middle part of the hour with Silva slightly behind.
Nearly halfway through the tenth hour things started to heat up. First, with the blinds moving up to 125K/250K ante 25K, TAPÎSpayé? only had four BBs left and used them to shove from the cutoff. WICKED617 now holding an eight figure stack made the call with [Jd][Ac]. TAPÎSpayé? need a little bit of luck with [Kc][9c] but no clubs and no pairs on the [3h] [Js] [8h] [8d] [Qd] made WICKED617 richer as TAPÎSpayé? earned $17,956.00 in sixth place.
Three hands later the bullet train of this final table, WICKED617, let another passenger off. OTT CANADA sounded like a person unable to swim for a life preserver after shoving 1.1 million from the cutoff then trying to type "wamma (sp?) look at numbers?" quickly before anyone might call in the chat box. But, someone did call as WICKED617 showed [Qc][Ks] dominating OTT CANADA's [Kc][7s]. The queen in the door [Qd] [6c] [5d] [Ts] [Js] would close out OTT CANADA's Sunday Warm-Up final table in fifth place ($23,316.00).
Two minutes past the halfway point of the tenth hour WICKED617 continued to dominate now holding over half the chips in play. With the blinds up to 150K/300K ante 30K WICKED617 min-raised from the button as Silva shoved 2.2 million chips from the big blind holding [Ks][9c]. Ahead of WICKED617's [Qc][Jc] until a turned queen [5h] [5s] [2c] [Qd] [Ac] shipped the 4.7 million chips to WICKED617 and $30,820.00 to Miguel "inca7bar" Silva in fourth place.
Rich get richer?
While it would not be a true wire-to-wire victory as Silva officially held the chip lead at the beginning of the final table, there's no doubt who took control of it. This could have been the final hand of the Sunday Warm-Up as all three players jumped all-in preflop. WICKED617 of course covered everyone holding pocket tens [Td][Th], TaBuLA_Ras4 showed big slick [Kc][Ac], and LameR25 hoping for some love with [Jc][Kd]. The blessing for LameR25 came through on the turn [5c] [3h] [7c] [Jd] [Qh] as the shortstack tripled-up but TaBuLA_Ras4 would be left out finishing in third place ($45,054.00).
Starting with a 15.1 million to 11.6 million chiplead, WICKED617 only needed to take down LameR25 for a near clean sweep of this Sunday Major.
LameR25 was not about to give in and showed it by taking the chiplead four minutes into heads-up play. WICKED617 came roaring back winning a string of eight out of nine hands taking a 17.8 million to 8.9 million chip advantage. But, on the tenth hand LameR25 would double up after winning a coin flip when pocket fours held over WICKED617's ace-nine.
From that point on LameR25 would not let go as 15 minutes later with the blinds up to 250K/500K ante 50K and LameR25 holding a 19.2 million to 7.5 million chiplead WICKED617 tried to gain some footing with a shove as LameR25 made the call by turning over [As][Jc]. Flipping against WICKED617's pocket sevens [7s][7c]. All the excitement waited for the river once again as the rivered jack [5c] [3d] [8h] [Ks] [Jh] shipped the weekly Sunday Warm-Up title and $84,420.00 to LameR25!
