In 2015 the sector Series of Poker announced a brand spanking new event called “The Colossus”. The $565 buy-in no-limit hold’em event featured a $5 million guaranteed prize pool and had it’s sights set on becoming the most important live tournament in poker history.

Over the four starting flights a fantastic total of 22,374 entries built a complete prize pool on far more than $11.1 million dollars.

The event is returning in 2016 with plenty of exciting changes. This year the tournament has added two additional starting flights and increased the guarantee to $7 million, with a $1,000,000 payday absolute to the eventual champion.

The event, as a way to run from June 2 – 7, is certain to kick off this year’s WSOP with a bang. This time across the event can have all starting flights play into the cash each night, with the day ending when the bubble is burst. This fashion all players returning for day 2 may be within the money.

In 2015 the player who navigated the large field to emerge victorious because the first Colossus champion was Cord Garcia. The Houston native, who was 25 on the time, earned $638,880 and his first WSOP gold bracelet for the win.
