The $5,000 buy-in Card Player Poker Tour Venetian main event drew a field of 537 players, making a total prize pool of $2,497,050. After six days of action, it was longtime tournament grinder Jon Turner who came away win the win, along side the biggest score of his career for $536,858.
Turner topped the most important event at the schedule for the Venetian Deepstack Extravaganza III, a chain boasting greater than $16 million in guarantees this summer.
The 34-year-old North Carolina-native is among the top online poker players in history, earning greater than $7.7 million playing under the name PearlJammer. He now has greater than $2.56 million in live earnings, meaning he has crossed the $10 million mark in total poker earnings.

After busting Heimiller in third place by rivering the nut flush, Turner took a 4-1 chip lead into heads-up play. It wasn’t long before Turner stretched that lead out much more and Metalidi was right down to about 15 big blinds.
