Five things from the arena of PokerStars heading into the weekend.
Okay, you probably have interest within the Sunday Majors this weekend it likely means you are not in Las Vegas for the sector Series of Poker Main Event (more on that below). Personally speaking I THINK your pain.
But let's look at the bright side. With the most efficient players on this planet currently coping with frostbite from the Rio air-con tundra, let alone a fifteen minute wait in line to make use of the bathroom, you'll benefit from their absence online and profit in any of the weekend majors, including the Sunday Million.
Last week it was won by Jay-Syl11 who picked up $177,000 for first place. I know, it isn't Las Vegas, but open the refrigerator, climb in and play from there. It's almost the similar thing.
Of course, the opposite place to be if you cannot be in Las Vegas (except for the fridge) is at the PokerStars Blog. That's where our coverage starts from tomorrow at the WSOP Main Event, which brings the summer Series to a close.
Brad Willis and Howard Swains might be available bringing news and stories from the tournament room, through every stage of the tournament. The writing is usually of an ordinary to wear down any refresh button. Bookmark this link to bypass missing any of it.
Talking of the WSOP we wrote this week about one contest so that it will still go on even after the top of the primary Event in a few weeks from now, that of the Player of the Year.
You can read the entire story here, but a glance back over recent years has shown Team PokerStars Pros to be prolific on this category. First Daniel Negreanu in 2013, then George Danzer a year later. Now it kind of feels Jason Mercier is poised to take this year's title, already out to an impressive lead.
Back online and the word "million" crops up a few times, the primary within the announcement today of the second one $1 million freeroll on PokerStars.
As you'll be able to read here, all of it occurs on Sunday July 17, and what is more entry into it couldn't be easier. We actually mean that, it's ridiculously simple. You'll read how and say "Really? That's it?" That's guarantees, as is the $10,000 to the winner. With 75,000 players finishing within the money it is a wonderful means to get your bank roll going, or top it up slightly. Read more about it here.
The other use of the word "million" is in connection with the volume still up for grabs in special Spin & Go's, no less than for the following three days.
As you'll be able to examine here, we're talking about $5 Spin & Go's that might make you're making you $1 million within the space of about ten minutes.
We could explain it in great length, but time is running out. Log in, get playing, and browse more about it as you play . All of it ends on Sunday. Good luck.
