Several States Eyeing Online Casinos Within the US

New JerseyOnline gambling is coming to the U.S.. That's the opinion of Massachusetts Treasurer Steven Grossman. Although the treasurer doesn't accept as true with the web gambling movement, he's prepared to back a push within the Massachusetts legislature to permit the state lottery to sell tickets online.

Massachusetts doesn't yet even offer its residents land-based casino gambling, and at a time when House Speaker Robert DeLeo and Governor Deval Patrick cannot find common ground on that issue, other legislators wish to move directly to the web gambling issue.

In New Jersey, an identical scene is ready to play out between lawmakers. State Senator Raymond Lesniak has already passed one bill during the Legislature that will have regulated online casinos in New Jersey. The bill was vetoed by Governor Chris Christie, and now Lesniak is readying an effort to take a look at again.

Lesniak believes he understands what Christie didn't like in regards to the original bill, and he has plans to mend those issues and produce a brand new bill to the table by the tip of the autumn. If Lesniak's bill passes and the governor signs it, New Jersey would become the third jurisdiction to authorize Internet gambling.

Washington DC, the similar place where federal lawmakers are still prohibiting online gambling, is about to open their first online casino later this year. The casino was originally slated to be open by September, however, the town Council has delayed the launching of the casino until a sequence of public hearings are held.

Nevada lawmakers have already passed online gambling legislation. In Nevada, online casinos is not going to become a reality until the government signs off at the issue. That might take greater than a year, but if the federal laws do change, Nevada could be ready.
