7:10pm: Everyone loves a chopped pot"Goodness knows what would've happened if he'd won the pot," quipped some Grafton from the opposite table, which was still close enough to listen to Gareth Hamilton's roar.
In the pot in question Hamilton opened to 45,000 at the button, Javier Elorza three-bet to 155,000 from the large blind and Hamilton went into the tank. He had 591,000 in total and Elorza had around 800,000. After a few minutes of thinking Hamilton announced all-in and after Elorza got a count he made the call.
Elorza: A♥Q♦Hamilton: A♦6♥
Elorza had made a very good call but wasn't rewarded because the flop fell 5♠3♦6♦, a 4♠ at the turn spread out some chop possibilities and the 7♦ river meant there has been a straight on board. Hamilton had clearly been sweating the queen only and set free a might roar thinking he had won the hand before realising it was a chop. -- NW

Grafton: A♥J♥Briga: 2♥2♠
Briga was ecstatic to peer it was a race however the 5♣9♥Q♥ flop gave Grafton hope, an excessive amount of hope apparently. "Sigh at that flop, too many outs," joked Grafton. The Q♠ at the turn gave Grafton much more outs as he could now counterfeit Briga's pair with a five or nine in addition to his pair and flush outs. The 7♥ river completed Grafton's flush and he shook hands with Briga before telling him he'd catch him on the party later. -- NW

12:18pm: Dream start for ClemmensenJust just like the Spanish football team last night, Martin Clemmensen has had a dream start and scored a double up. He'll be hoping the remainder of his day doesn't go just like the rest of the match.

12:10pm: Three early exitsIt didn't take long for the primary exits of the day...
First to move was Cormac Moylan when his pocket tens lost out to Olvedo Heinze's pocket jacks. The Irishman was all-in pre-flop for approximately 20 big blinds.
Then at the next hand at that table Patxi Salinas shoved for 10 big blinds with 8 7 and got called by the K J of similarly stacked Yakup Gulkaya. Neither player hit, and the previous professional football player is now a former participant on this poker tournament.
And Israel Pelaz is another early faller. -- NW
