Ashish Gupta overcame a field of 523 runners to take home the APPT 10 Melbourne title, the trophy, and $124,191.

7pm: Raymond Ou eliminated in 2nd place ($136,535*)Level 30: Blinds 60,000/120,000 (20,000)

After the agreed-to mandatory straddle to 250,000 at the button from Raymond Ou, Ashish Gupta called from the large ignorant of see a flop of 9♥2♠Q♣.

Both players checked through to the 6♣ where Gupta led for 300,000. Ou came back excessive for 1.1 million and Gupta moved all of it in with around 6.8 million. Ou called it off with lower than half that behind and the cards went on their backs.

Ou: K♠Q♦Gupta: Q♥2♦

Ou had top pair with a king kicker but was in trouble against Gupta's top and bottom pair. Needing to spike a king, nine or six to maintain the tournament going Ou couldn't find help because the Q♠ rolled off at the river to signal the tip of play.

Ou collected $136,535 after a four-handed deal after which an extra heads up deal.

With both players still relatively deep they've agreed that the player at the button will blind raise to 250,000 every hand to hurry things up a bit.

6:40pm: Take a break

The final two players have stepped clear of the tournament floor to take a break from the action. Here's how they'll stack up once they return.

Ashish Gupta - 6.875 millionRaymond Ou - 3.290 million

6:30pm: Gupta bluff jamsLevel 29: Blinds 50,000/100,000 (10,000)

The biggest hand of heads up just went down with Ashish Gupta bluff shoving the river to take it down.

Gupta limped in at the button before Raymond Ou bumped it as much as 400,000 from the massive blind. Gupta called and the flop landed 6♣K♠9♣. Ou continued for 575,000 and Gupta called before the dealer turned the Q♦.

Ou fired again for 825,000 and Gupta called to look the J♥ river.

Ou checked it at the end and Gupta moved all in for 1.85 million.

"I have a suite" Ou said with a smile.

"Why are you thinking for?" Gupta asked in reply

"Top set" Ou added, "Will you show if I fold?"

After a few minutes Ou let it go and flashed the K♣ for no less than top pair.

Gupta tabled 8♣7♥ for a busted flopped straight draw and just eight high before he raked within the pot.

"I knew it!" Ou said, "THAT IS THE only hand I beat."

Gupta moved as much as 5.45 million in chips with the successful bluff while Ou dropped to 4.7 million.

6:10pm: Heads up dealLevel 29: Blinds 50,000/100,000 (10,000)

The clock was paused as Raymond Ou and Ashish Gupta discussed potentially chopping the remainder $20,000 that was left aside for first place. In response to Ou's lead the 2 of them agreed to Ou's securing an extra $13,000 and Gupta locking up $7,000.

They'll now play it out for the title and the trophy. Here's how their stacks are looking.

5:50pm: Trung Tran eliminated in 3rd place ($107,313*)Level 29: Blinds 50,000/100,000 (10,000)

Heads up is now set after Trung Tran leaves us 90 minutes into three-handed play.

Tran was eliminated two hands after his stack was decimated by Ashish Gupta. That hand saw Gupta raise to 225,000 from the small blind and Tran call from the large blind.

The flop fell 6♥3♥J♥ and Gupta continued for 350,000. Tran then moved all in excessive for a complete of 1.815 million to hide Gupta by only 15,000 in chips. Gupta was torn over the verdict and tanked for a few minutes before finally committing to a call.

Tran: J♠3♦Gupta: 5♥5♣

Tran had top and bottom pair but was in danger against Gupta's pair and a flush draw. The 2♥ turn brought that flush and with Tran right down to just four outs, he couldn't catch up when the 7♣ river landed to take almost his entire stack.

Down to a few of antes Tran managed to triple up within the next hand, but with still just a small blind for a stack he was sent packing the very next hand.

That hand saw Tran all in with K♥Q♦ at the button, and after Raymond Ou limped with K♣K♦ from the small blind, Gupta checked his option holding T♥3♥.

The T♦3♣3♠ flop was checked through but Ou led out for 100,000 at the 5♠ turn. Tran called and the K♠ landed at the river. Ou had improved to an exceptional full house and bombed it for 700,000 at the end. With a flopped full house himself Tran made the decision as Ou scooped a large pot and Tran was eliminated.

5:35pm: Déjà vu as Tran cracks Ou's queens to surviveLevel 28: Blinds 40,000/80,000 (10,000)

It almost the exact same fashion as Trung Tran doubled through Raymond Ou to outlive earlier, he did it again, cracking Ou's pocket queens for the second one time.

Ou raised to 160,000 before Tran moved all in for 1.295 million from the massive blind. Ou beat him into the pot and immediately tabled Q♥Q♣, in front of Tran's A♥5♠.

"Not like this, not again" Ou quipped with fun before he saw his fears would come to fruition.

The A♦8♠A♠ flop landed to look Tran hit trips and rocket into the lead. Ou couldn't discover a queen at the 7♦ turn or K♣ river and was knocked right down to 5.075 million as Tran doubled through.

5:30pm: Ou at the riseLevel 28: Blinds 40,000/80,000 (10,000)

Raymond Ou kicked things off with a button raise to 160,000 and both the blinds called to look the dealer spread a K♥4♥Q♠ flop. It was checked back to Ou and he continued for 275,000. Ashish Gupta made the decision and with Trung Tran folding the Q♦ turn was revealed.

Both players checked to the Q♣ river where Gupta led at it for 750,000. After a moment's pause Ou stacked up a tower worth 2.8 million and slid it into the center. Gupta let it go and fell to 2.9 million.

5:20pm: Ou doubles through TranLevel 28: Blinds 40,000/80,000 (10,000)

Trung Tran raised to 200,000 from the small blind before Raymond Ou moved all in for 1.945 million from the large blind.

"Let's gamble" Tran said after giving it some thought, and he committed the chips to place Ou at risk.

Ou: 5♠5♦Tran: K♣Q♦

It was a coinflip and Ou's pocket fives would hold because the cards came down 3♣8♠6♣3♦A♦. With that he climbs to right around 4 million in chips, while Tran falls to 1.8 million. Ashish Gupta remains to be our table captain with 4.6 million in play.

5:10pm: Gupta seizes chip leadLevel 28: Blinds 40,000/80,000 (10,000)

Ashish Gupta just usurped the chip lead from Trung Tran after flopping trips and getting three streets of value.

Gupta opened the actin with a raise to 175,000 at the button and both Tran and Raymond Ou called from the small blind and the large blind respectively.

The flop was spread 9♣9♥6♥ and after two checks Gupta continued for 200,000. Tran stuck around and with Ou out of how the 4♦ arrived at the turn.

After another check from Tran, Gupta fired for 315,000. The bet was met with another call and the 7♣ completed the board. A LAST check from Tran saw Gupta barrel for 825,000 at the end and after a while within the tank, Tran made the call.

Gupta tabled A♠9♠ for a flopped three of a sort which was good to take down the pot and move him as much as 4.6 million. He's now sooner than the pack with Tran dropping to 3.65 million and Ou still trailing on 2.2 million.

4:55pm: Tran takes chips from OuLevel 28: Blinds 40,000/80,000 (10,000)

Raymond Ou raised to 160,000 at the button and Trung Tran called from the large unaware of see a flop of 3♠5♥9♦. Tran then check-called a gamble of 150,000 before the 7♦ arrived at the turn.

Both players checked and the 2♣ rolled off at the river.

Tran then opted to steer for 550,000 and Ou called with the worst of it. Tran flashed 6♠8♦ for the nuts with a straight and Ou mucked his hand.

Tran now has the overpowering chip lead on 5.4 million and Ou falls to the quick stack with 2.2 million.

4:30pm: Scheduled break

The final three players have commenced a 10-minute break.

4:25pm: Jay Prasad eliminated in 4th place ($175,000*)Level 27: Blinds 30,000/60,000 (10,000)

Jay Prasad was the commanding chip leader when four-handed play began but after a string of beats he finds himself the following one at the rail.

His final hand saw Ashish Gupta raise to 100,000 at the button before Prasad moved all in for around 800,000 from the large blind. Gupta made the decision with enough to hide Prasad and the 2 of them tabled their hands.

Prasad: K♣J♥Gupta: A♦3♠

The T♠A♥4♣ flop saw Prasad fall further behind, and while he had a gut shot to Broadway he couldn't complete it because the 4♠ turn and 5♣ river meant he was heading home.

Prasad will still take home the lion's share of the prize pool after locking up $175,000 within the four-handed deal.

4:15pm: Tran takes more from PrasadLevel 27: Blinds 30,000/60,000 (10,000)

Jay Prasad raised to 275,000 under the gun and Trung Tran called from the massive blind before a flop of A♣3♦2♠. Tran check-called 500,000 and after the J♣ turn card both players checked.

Tran led the river for 600,000 and Prasad snap-called behind.

Tran: A♥9♦Prasad: A♦8♣

Tran had Prasad pipped by one and scooped the pot to go away the once commanding chip leader because the table short stack.

4:10pm: Set no good for PrasadLevel 27: Blinds 30,000/60,000 (10,000)

Jay Prasad just lost an enormous pot to Raymond Ou when he ran a collection right into a flush.

Ou brought it in for a raise to 125,000 from under the gun and Prasad defended his big ignorant of see a flop of T♣2♣5♥.

Prasad then led out for 125,000 and Ou called to take them to the 8♠ turn. The action went check-check and the A♣ arrived at the end.

Prasad led again, this time for 475,000, but Ou reached deep int his stack and wagered 1.2 million. Prasad snapped it off with 2♥2♦ for bottom set however it was no good against Ou's J♣8♣ for a flush.

That hand sees Prasad drop to a fair 3 million in chips while Ou builds to 3.3 million.

4pm: Prasad trips over TranLevel 27: Blinds 30,000/60,000 (10,000)

Trung Tran raised to 125,000 under the gun and Jay Prasad flatted from the button before a flop of J♠9♥Q♠.

Tran gave up the betting lead with a check to Prasad who fired for 125,000. Tran called and the 7♣ arrived at the turn. After another check from Tran, Prasad continued for one more 225,000, and the bet was called to take them to the Q♦.

Tran checked a last time and called Prasad's last barrel for 300,000 to peer the bad news. Prasad tabled A♦Q♥ for trip queens with an ace kicker, and Tran flashed the Q♣ because the pot was pushed Prasad's way.

3:50pm: Tran doubles through PrasadLevel 27: Blinds 30,000/60,000 (10,000)

Trung Tran isn't any longer our short stack upon getting full value versus table chip leader Jay Prasad.

Tran opened the action from the cutoff with a raise to 125,000 and Prasad flatted at the button. The blinds folded and the flop came Q♥9♠T♠.

Tran continued for 125,000 and with a snappy call from Prasad the dealer turned the 9♦.

After a check from Tran, Prasad shipped all in with enough to hide Tran's 1.1 million, and Tran didn't hesitate long before calling to place himself at risk.

Tran: Q♠8♠Prasad: J♦4♠

Tran was in great shape to double with two pair and a flush draw against Prasad's straight draw, and the river landed a secure 7♦ to peer him lock up the pot and leave Prasad with 3.8 million.

3:35pm: Deal struckLevel 27: Blinds 30,000/60,000 (10,000)

After much debate with overwhelming chip leader Jay Prasad holding out for additonal money, finally a deal was agreed upon. The opposite three players all agreed to relinquish $5,000 each from their shares of an ICM chop, with $20,000, the trophy and the APPT title still left to play for.

The clock was paused because the final four players discuss a potential deal.

3:10pm: Tran cracks queens to doubleLevel 26: Blinds 25,000/50,000 (5,000)

Trung Tran is lucky to still be in contention after running into the pocket queens of Raymond Ou.

The action began with Ashish Gupta raising to 100,000 from under the gun before Tran moved all in excessive for 645,000. Ou also opted to jam and with Gupta getting out of ways the cards went on their backs.

Tran: A♣7♥Ou: Q♠Q♦

Tran needed help and he found just a little at the 7♦K♦8♣ flop. The J♣ turn changed nothing however the railbirds gasped because the A♠ fell at the end to offer Tran two pair and the winning hand.

Ou falls to 2.25 million.

3pm: Shawn Lee eliminated in 5th place ($47,175)Level 26: Blinds 25,000/50,000 (5,000)

Shawn Lee leaves us after a cooler sees Raymond Ou take his stack.

Lee moved all in for around 600,000 from under the gun and Ou flat-called from the small ignorant of put him in peril. Ashish Gupta folded the massive blind and the 2 active players revealed their hands.

Lee: J♠J♦Ou: K♠K♦

Lee was at risk of elimination and the K♥3♥6♦ almost sealed his fate immediately. Needing only running jacks to stick within the running he couldn't do it because the 8♣ turn and 5♥ river saw him heading to the payout desk.

2:45pm: Tu Lan eliminated in 6th place ($37,525)Level 26: Blinds 25,000/50,000 (5,000)

Tu Lan departs in sixth place after calling off for his tournament life and never catching up when the community cards came down.

The hand began with Trung Tran moving all in for 475,000 from the cutoff before Lan committed his last 365,000 at the button.

Lan: K♣J♣Tran: A♠4♦

Lan needed help and received precisely the opposite at the 7♥A♣8♥ flop. He needed running cards to outlive and although he paired up at the K♥ turn the deck wouldn't oblige because the 9♦ river confirmed his elimination.

2:30pm: Gupta gets some from OuLevel 26: Blinds 25,000/50,000 (5,000)

Raymond Ou just encountered a setback after losing a moderate sized pot to Ashish Gupta.

It was a battle of the blinds with Ou checking the 3♦9♠7♥ flop before Gupta fired for 75,000. The bet was met with a decision and the dealer presented the 4♥ turn.

Ou check-called again, this time for 130,000 and the 5♠ rolled off at the end.

After a last check from Ou, Gupta barrelled for 270,000 and Ou reluctantly paid him off. Gupta tabled 9♥4♣ for a turned two pair to scoop the pot and knock Ou go into reverse to 1.85 million.

2:10pm: First break

Our remaining six players have stepped clear of the table for a 10-minute break.

2:05pm: Ou at the warpathLevel 25: Blinds 20,000/40,000 (5,000)

Despite starting the day as one of the vital short stacks Raymond Ou is beginning to boss the table around. He's now as much as 2.15 million in chips after three consecutive hands in a row.

The most up-to-date of which saw Ou raise from the cutoff to 80,000 and Trung Tran defend his big blind. After a flop of 7♠T♦9♣ Tran checked and after Ou continued for 90,000, Tran played back at him for 225,000 in total. Ou stuck around and the 3♥ peeled off at the turn.

Tran then checked but after Ou fired for 210,000 Tran let the hand go and Ou scooped in another lot of chips.

1:55pm: Ben McLean eliminated in 7th place ($30,550)Level 25: Blinds 20,000/40,000 (5,000)

Ben McLean is our first elimination of the day. He was just felted by Jay Prasad.

McLean moved all in under the gun for his last 455,000 and when it folded around to Prasad at the button he casually tossed in a 25,000-denomination chip to signal a choice. The blinds both got out of ways and the cards went on their backs.

McLean: A♠9♠Prasad: J♥J♦

McLean was chasing an ace or some spades but he couldn't improve when the cards came down K♥7♠T♦5♥2♥.

His elimination takes us right down to only six players remaining.

1:45pm: McLean getting shortLevel 25: Blinds 20,000/40,000 (5,000)

Ben McLean is now our table shortstack after he lost some chips to Ashish Gupta.

McLean opened to 90,000 at the button and Gupta made the decision from the small blind. They went to a flop of T♣3♥9♦ and the action went check-check.

That changed at the 3♣ turn, however, with Gupta leading at it for 100,000. Mclean called and the T♠ fell at the end.

Gupta fired again, this time for 165,000, and McLean called it off to peer the bad news. Gupta tabled K♥T♦ for tens stuffed with threes and McLean mucked - dropping all the way down to just 480,000.

1:35pm: Ou at the riseLevel 25: Blinds 20,000/40,000 (5,000)

Trung Tran raised to 85,000 from the cutoff and both Raymond Ou and Ben McLean called from the small blind and massive blind respectively.

The dealer spread a 9♠6♦Q♣ flop and the action was checked across the. Q♦ arrived at the turn and after it was checked through again the 4♥ river was revealed.

Ou decided to steer at it for 130,000 and McLean opted to maintain him honest. Tabling K♥Q♠ for 3 of a type queens Ou was good and moved as much as 1.15 million.

1:25pm: Ou with back-to-back jamsLevel 25: Blinds 20,000/40,000 (5,000)

Raymond Ou is without doubt one of the short stacks in this final table but he's managing to acquire chips without going to showdown.

Ou moved open jammed two hands in a row, from the hijack and cutoff seats, both with none contest from the opposite players.

He now sits with 750,000 in play.

1:05pm: Tran chips up through PrasadLevel 24: Blinds 15,000/30,000 (5,000)

Jay Prasad opened the action with a raise to 75,000 under the gun and Trung Tran defended from the large blind. The flop fell Q♠7♥6♠ and Tran check-called a gamble of 80,000.

The dealer turned the Q♥ to pair the board and Tran check-called again for 105,000. The 2♣ completed the board and after a last check from Tran, Prasad deliberated for a moment.

He finally decided to fireplace a last time for 230,000 and Tran made the call.

Prasad: A♠K♥Tran: 9♠9♥

Tran's pocket nines were good against Prasad's ace high and Tran collected the pot to stack up a brand new total of 1.85 million. Prasad however dipped to 1.9 million.

1pm: McLean doubles through GuptaLevel 24: Blinds 15,000/30,000 (5,000)

Ben McLean continues to be within the APPT race after the river card saved his tournament life during a large coinflip.

McLean opened to 80,000 before Ashish Gupta came back excessive for 225,000. McLean didn't hesitate to transport all in for about 800,000, and Gupta called it off to place him at risk.

McLean: A♥Q♣Gupta: J♠J♦

McLean didn't catch any assistance on the 5♥6♣K♣ flop or the 3♦ turn however the A♦ arrived at the end to avoid wasting him.

"River!" he cried with a fist pump as he secured the large double up and knocked Gupta go into reverse to 1.6 million.

12:50pm: Gupta takes from McLeanLevel 24: Blinds 15,000/30,000 (5,000)

Ben McLean raised to 70,000 from the button before Ashish Gupta reraised to 205,000 from the small blind. The large blind folded and McLean called.

The flop came 2♦A♠T♦ and Gupta checked before McLean quickly led out for 225,000. Gupta called made the decision and the 3♥ arrived at the turn. Both players checked it through and did the similar at the 3♠ river."Jack" announced McLean but he mucked his hand after Gupta tabled A♥6♠ for 2 pair to take down the pot.

12:35pm: McLean spikes a straightLevel 24: Blinds 15,000/30,000 (5,000)

Shawn Lee raised to 65,000 from middle position and was called by Jay Prasad within the cutoff and Ben McLean within the big blind.

The flop landed K♥7♠6♠ and the action was checked around.

The 8♠ appeared at the turn and after a few checks, Prasad fired for 80,000. Lee got out of ways but McLean called before the 5♥ completed the board.

McLean checked his option and Prasad made it 100,000 to move. McLean then installed a raise to 300,000 and Prasad called it off.

With A♦9♣ for a straight McLean's hand was good and he moved as much as 1.35 million. Prasad dropped to 1.85 million in chips.

12:25pm: Lan moves inLevel 24: Blinds 15,000/30,000 (5,000)

Shawn Lee raised to 65,000 from the cutoff and when it was folded to Tu Lan within the big blind he shoved all in for a complete of 815,000.

Lee couldn't call it off and Lan added some chips to his stack.

12:15pm: Cards within the air!Level 24: Blinds 15,000/30,000 (5,000)

Play has begun for our APPT Melbourne Main Event final table.

Everyone is seated except Jay Prasad who's expected to make an appearance momentarily.

The final table awaits!

It won't be long until our lucky final seven wander back into Crown Casino with their eyes set at the next APPT Main Event title. On top of that the eventual champion will even receive a healthy $235,875 for the primary place prize!

Leading the charge at the beginning of play may be Ashish Gupta. He eliminated four players because the final table drew with regards to establish himself because the overall table captain. Gupta returns with 2.22 million just sooner than second-place starter Jay Prasad on 2.16 million.

The action recommences at 12:15pm local time with blinds at 15,000/30,000 and a 5,000 chip ante. With that during mind here's how our final table stacks up.
