With no time to lick their wounds, the Warriors return to the floor Monday night when they play host to the Orlando Magic at Oracle Arena. The Warriors are big favorites, which is understandable considering their inferior Eastern Conference opponent (Magic W/L record: 27-34), but coming off a loss on the second game of a back-to-back raises some interesting questions.
How have the Warriors responded to their five previous losses this season?
It will come as no surprise to anyone that the Dubs own a 5-0 W/L record following a loss this season. Their average margin of victory in those five games is an impressive 16.8 points and at home their average margin of victory is an even more dominant 21.5 points.
But how do the Warriors perform on the tail end of back-to-back situations?
Whenever you look at a Warriors' straight up win/loss record, in any situation, the numbers are going to be outstanding. The second game of a back-to-back is no different with the defending NBA champions holding a 14-1 record in these traditionally difficult situations. In those 15 games the Warriors hold a very impressive 11-4 ATS record including 3-0 ATS at home with an average margin of victory sitting at 16.33 points.
It appears that the Golden State Warriors take losing personally, the only thing Magic backers might have to look forward to Monday night are some fancy Aaron Gordon dunks.
