Timberlake And Affleck Lend Hand To Online Poker In New Movie

Published on October 5, 2013 by Tom Jones

Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck are teaming up of their latest movie, Runner, Runner. The film sheds light at the online poker industry, and political warfare has begun over the brand new controversial movie.

In the film, Timberlake plays a faculty student who gambles away all of his money to a web-based poker room. Within the process, Timberlake claims he was cheated by the location. In an effort to gain justice, Timberlake arrives in Costa Rica, the positioning where the web poker room originates.

Affleck plays the landlord of the net poker site, and when confronted by Timberlake, Affleck offers the young college student a role working for the location. The movie comes from Brian Koppleman, who wrote the well-acclaimed hit Rounders back in 1998. Rounders has become somewhat of a cult classic inside the poker industry.

The American Gaming Association took the chance to make use of Runner, Runner, to advertise their efforts to have federal online gambling laws changed. The AGA has taken out ads with Google at the page where Runner, Runner are available. The ad touts the deficiencies within the current laws and the prospective danger to American poker players.

Affleck is not any stranger to the sport of poker. He and Timberlake were linked in a narrative involving a high stakes poker game that was being run out in Las Vegas. Neither actor was indicted within the investigation.

A major movement have been going down within the US to manage Internet gambling. Several states, including Nevada and New Jersey have passed online poker regulations. Nevada has already began running online sites, and New Jersey is planning on launching their first online casino on November 26th.
