Lockton and NTRA unveil insurance offering for tracks



121014 LocktonInsurance 300The National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA) and Lockton Insurance Brokers opened the gates at the NTRA's new risk management and employee benefits insurance program today on the Global Symposium on Racing & Gaming in Tucson, AZ. The NTRA's new insurance program might help racetracks and racinos identify and decrease hidden risks of their existing insurance protection, driving costs down and lengthening safety.

"This is a game-changer for the industry and can have a favorable impact at the sport," said Jared Mitilier, leader of Lockton's Gaming, Entertainment, and Sports Practice. "This program is an all-inclusive service offering with innovations designed specifically for the pony racing industry. Racetracks and racinos turn to us as a one-stop shop for risk management and employee benefits."

The new NTRA insurance program offers tailored insurance products including:

  •     Workers' compensation
  •     Promotion and events
  •     Jockey accident
  •     Group medical
  •     Dental
  •     Vision
  •     Life and accidental death and dismemberment
  •     Voluntary benefits products

Through this new program, Lockton also provides racing operators with services including insurance coverage analysis, loss control and safety, and claims advocacy.
