Using A Process In DFS

As I’ve become more entrenched in daily fantasy sports (DFS), the worth of getting a process or a routine for creating lineups has become increasingly apparent. After I first started playing, the goal was to rejoice. Fantasy sports has been a keenness of mine for years and this gave the look of a good more fun strategy to play them. But identical to it was for me in poker, enjoying the sport ended in me having a robust want to become a greater player. The truth that there has been numerous underlying strategy quickly became clear and very piqued my interest.

For over a year, looking to work out the “correct” strategy kept eluding me. Or so I USED TO BE convinced. Saying there's a correct strategy is set as naïve as saying there’s just one solution to win in poker. What I’ve come to understand is it's good to decide what factors for predicting performance you think are important after which develop a process that helps you highlight those factors. The goal is to make it easier on you not to become overwhelmed by the entire options.

The King Predictor

Whatever you make a decision is important, you ought to always be making an allowance for the betting lines and totals. I’ve written about being attentive to these before and I’m doing it again here to hammer the purpose home. The lines and totals should have a spot to your analysis. Companies that put these lines out haven't any choice but to lead them to as efficient as possible otherwise sharp bettors could beat them up. So that you can believe that after an NFL team is a 6-point favorite and the overall is 54, they’re quite more likely to have better performance when it comes to fantasy scoring as a complete than a 3-point underdog in a game with a complete of 41.

Okay, But What’s Next?

Obviously, betting lines can’t be the one analysis you do when creating lineups in DFS. That is where choosing what you suspect to be important and implementing a process that may highlight it comes into play. For me, a large number of this boils all the way down to logic. I ATTEMPT TO consider what essentially the most fundamental premises of performance are and the way they relate to various kinds of players. Carries and receptions for running backs; targets for wide receivers; passing yards for quarterbacks; snap counts for all players. These are some factors that experience strong predictive value for player performance. The trick is the best way to compile this knowledge and use it on your advantage. That’s where arising with a process will also be handy.

Spreadsheets?

Some people, myself included, often turn to spreadsheets when trying to gain an edge. In my opinion, they're a smart way to get the ideas you ought to see compiled and presented in some way that works for you. Additionally it is my opinion that spreadsheets aren’t for everybody. For this reason I FEEL a very powerful approach to preparation for any daily fantasy sport is whatever works right for you. I DO KNOW individuals who play DFS rather well who never take a look at a spreadsheet. There also are individuals who just about base every decision they make off of what the spreadsheet they’ve created spits out.

At the top of the day, my point isn’t about spreadsheet or no spreadsheet. The purpose is that playing DFS well is nearly always the results of an outstanding process. Whether you’re a host cruncher otherwise you like to work more within the abstract, there needs to be an even amount of thought and analysis put into your lineups with a purpose to achieve success. Consider what factors you suspect to be important and have the option on your lineups to mirror that. Use the betting lines as an overarching guide and tiebreaker when torn between players. Always be willing to reconsider what you're thinking that is vital. Eventually, things will start to click. And when things click, the bankroll will grow.
