Ladbrokes kicks off World Cup Facebook betting competition

Ladbrokes 4iGaming Business – Bookmaker Ladbrokes has moved to capitalise in this summer’s Fifa World Cup by launching a bespoke Facebook application designed to facilitate an everyday community derived from bets at the national team football tournament.

According to Thedrum.com, the large Score app is a crowd-sourced, free-to-play, accumulator-style betting competition that permits players to grow a community pot by selecting one in every of five daily bets on which to wager.

Once a player has entered their virtual bet, they are going to be entered right into a prize draw for that day.

The overall winner of the betting competition might be awarded £5,000 while two runners-up will each pocket £1,000. AN EXTRA £3,000 can be handed out as spot prizes inside the event.

The BIG Score can also be accessed via Ladbrokes’ official Facebook page.

David Moscardini, social media manager at Ladbrokes, said: “The BIG Score is a fun, daily competition which we are hoping will generate additional excitement around what's already probably the most hotly-anticipated World Cup of all time.

“Brazil 2014 would be the most social media-dominant World Cup – and possibly sporting event – of all time so we are hoping our Facebook-run contest will tap into the social buzz and provides our community added enjoyment to enrich their TV watching and gaming activity.”
