A report from the l. a. Times states:The NBA filed a counterclaim against Donald Sterling and the Sterling Family Trust in federal court Monday, saying the Clippers owner caused “devastating and incalculable harm” to the league.
Filed in U.S. District Court in La according to Sterling’s June antitrust lawsuit against the NBA and Commissioner Adam Silver, the counterclaim seeks to recover damages associated with the owner’s recorded comments denigrating blacks.
Select Clippers players and its coach, Doc Rivers, had stated they might boycott the year if Sterling remained owner by the point the 2014-15 regular season began. Because the entire NBA and the Clippers franchise moves on within the post-Donald Sterling era, a legal battle is anticipated to ensue from his camp regarding Shelly Sterling selling the team to Steve Ballmer.
